A client of the firm was recently awarded €550,000.00 by an Arbitrator after his land was compulsorily acquired by the local council. The issue came down to a difference in opinion between the two parties and their respective experts as to the correct prior valuation of the lands in question. A final offer of a much lesser figure plus costs had been made to the client, but this was rejected and the case went on to hearing. The client was awarded the higher figure of €550,000.00 plus his costs.
